The Shaft – Escape Room Osnabrück
Osnabrück 1893.
Coal mining developed into one of the most important sources of income for the city of Osnabrück at the end of the 18th century. In addition to the Haseschacht, there was another mine to the north of the Piesberg – the Stüveschacht. The coal mined there was hauled underground through the 1.5-kilometre-long Hasestollen tunnel by horse to the colliery station to the south.
At an extraordinary general meeting on July 27, 1889, approval was given for the purchase of the Piesberg colliery.
With the conclusion of the purchase agreement on August 22, 1889, the mine, including all rights and obligations, became the property of the Georgs-Marien-Bergwerks- und Hüttenverein.
In September 1893, under the general manager August Haarmann, young miners set out to find new anthracite coal and bring the black gold to the surface.
However, the problems increased as they penetrated deeper.
Are you ready to venture into the depths and find the black gold?
